H.R. 6617 — To require a report on payments provided to the Taliban and congressional review of agreements signed with the Taliban.

This bill requires the Department of State to notify Congress when an entity receiving U.S.-provided funds enters into an agreement with the Taliban (the group controlling the government of Afghanistan). The State Department shall submit a report to Congress on the total amount and types of payments provided by such entities to the Taliban. The State Department shall also submit a report that includes a copy of each agreement between such entities and the Taliban between August 31, 2021, and the date of enactment.
