This section states the sense of Congress that (1) it recognizes and celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act (MSA) and its influence on coastal economies and marine ecosystems; (2) it celebrates individuals who harvest seafood; (3) it commends state and federal resource managers, fishermen, industry representatives, Indigenous and Tribal members, scientists, conservationists, and other experts for upholding MSA principles; and (4) it reaffirms commitment to a strong science-based MSA to address overfishing, changing ocean conditions, fishery disasters, and illegal foreign fishing.
