H.R. 1014 — Specialist Joey Lenz Act of 2025

This section provides the short title, the “Specialist Joey Lenz Act of 2025.”

This section establishes new requirements for periodic health assessments for members of the Armed Forces beginning in 2026. It directs the Secretary of Defense to ensure that annual assessments include: (1) a sports physical; (2) an electrocardiogram; and (3) blood work consisting of a comprehensive metabolic panel and complete blood count, with a thyroid stimulating hormone test and a brain natriuretic peptide test if necessary. It also requires inclusion of any other test or evaluation required by law, including evaluations required under section 704 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 and section 707 of that Act, as well as any additional test or evaluation the Secretary determines appropriate.
