H.R. 1016 — Protecting Women’s Private Spaces Act

This section provides the short title of the Act as the “Protecting Women’s Private Spaces Act.”

This section prohibits any person from accessing or using a single-sex facility on Federal property other than a facility corresponding to that person’s biological sex, except for emergency medical personnel responding to a medical emergency and law enforcement officers in active pursuit of a suspect or conducting an active investigation. It defines “single-sex facility” as a restroom, locker room, or changing room intended for use by one biological sex, and defines “Federal property” to include buildings, land, or other real property owned, leased, or occupied by federal agencies, the Department of Defense, the U.S. Postal Service, the District of Columbia, or U.S. territories and possessions. It also defines “biological sex,” “female,” and “male” for purposes of the prohibition.
