H.R. 1028 — Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act of 2026

This section establishes the short title of the Act as the “Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act of 2026.”

This section revises the eligibility requirements for certification as a national governing body under 36 U.S.C. § 220522 by adding a new condition that the organization prohibit a person whose sex is male from participating in amateur athletic competition designated for females, women, or girls. It also amends the definitions in 36 U.S.C. § 220501(b) by adding definitions of “female,” “male,” and “sex” based on reproductive biology, including individuals who would have those reproductive characteristics but for a developmental or genetic anomaly or historical accident.
