H.R. 103 — Congressional Border Security Assessment Act

This section provides the short title of the Act as the “Congressional Border Security Assessment Act.”

This section provides members of Congress and accompanying congressional staff lawful access to any Indian reservation with 50 or more contiguous miles of the U.S.-Mexico international boundary, including roadways and easements on Indian country, for the purpose of gathering information to assess national security, public safety, and border security. As background, 18 U.S.C. § 1151 defines “Indian country” to include reservation lands, dependent Indian communities, and Indian allotments.
