H.R. 1170 — Congressional Access to Military Posts Act of 2025

This section establishes the short title as the “Congressional Access to Military Posts Act of 2025.”

This section directs the Secretary of Defense to establish procedures to grant Members of Congress expedited access to covered military installations in the United States and Guam when they present a valid congressional identification badge, and to grant accompanying congressional employees the same access. It prohibits the Secretary from requiring Members of Congress to schedule such access in advance before arriving at the installation. As background, a covered installation is one where a Department of Defense common access card is the sole access requirement for service members, and “Congressional employee” has the meaning given under 5 U.S.C. § 2107(5).
