H.R. 1187 — UAP Transparency Act

This section establishes the short title of the Act as the “UAP Transparency Act.”

This section directs the President, not later than 270 days after enactment, to require each Federal department or agency that possesses documents, reports, or other records relating to unidentified anomalous phenomena to declassify and post all such materials on a publicly available website. It also requires the President to submit a progress report to the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability and the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs not later than 360 days after enactment and quarterly thereafter, detailing each department’s and agency’s implementation of the declassification requirement. The section defines “unidentified anomalous phenomena” by reference to 50 U.S.C. § 3373.
