H.R. 1345 — Gas Can Freedom Act of 2025

This section establishes the short title of the Act as the “Gas Can Freedom Act of 2025.”

This section repeals the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act of 2020 (15 U.S.C. 2056d) and the Children’s Gasoline Burn Prevention Act (15 U.S.C. 2056 note), and provides that any Consumer Product Safety Commission regulation issued under either repealed law has no force or effect. It also prohibits the Consumer Product Safety Commission from promulgating any regulation that requires (1) a flame mitigation device in a portable fuel container or (2) a portable gasoline container to meet child-resistance requirements. (Thus, the Commission could no longer require these safety features for portable fuel and gasoline containers under the repealed authorities.)
