H.R. 1362 — Downwinders Parity Act of 2025

This section establishes the short title as the “Downwinders Parity Act of 2025.”

This section expands eligibility under the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act by (1) striking the limitation to “that portion of” and the acreage “that consists of townships 13 through 16 at ranges 63 through 71” in section 4(b)(1)(B), and (2) inserting “all acreage in any county all or part of which is located in” before “that part” in section 4(b)(1)(C). (Thus, the amendment broadens the geographic areas covered for compensation claims under the Act.)

This section extends the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA) trust fund termination date to December 31, 2030 (from 2 years after enactment of the RECA Extension Act of 2022). (Thus, the fund remains available to pay compensation claims for an additional period before closing on that date.)

This section directs the Attorney General to submit, not later than 180 days after enactment, a report to the relevant committees of the Senate and House of Representatives describing efforts to educate and conduct outreach to persons made newly eligible for benefits under the amendments made by section 2.
