H.R. 141 — Trailer Safety Improvement Act

This section establishes the short title of the Act as the “Trailer Safety Improvement Act.”

This section expands the highway safety education activities eligible for funding under 23 U.S.C. § 402 by adding programs to prevent improper and unsafe use of light-duty and medium-duty trailers and to educate the public about required trailer safety equipment and preventive maintenance, in addition to existing efforts addressing unsecured vehicle loads.
