“For the relief of Ruslana Melnyk and Mykhaylo Gnatyuk.”
This bill provides for the relief of Ruslana Melnyk and Mykhaylo Gnatyuk.
This section authorizes Ruslana Melnyk and Mykhaylo Gnatyuk to apply for immigrant visas or adjustment of status to lawful permanent resident under the Immigration and Nationality Act, notwithstanding the normal family-based numerical limits in section 201, if they file the required application and fees within 2 years after enactment. It also deems any covered entry into the United States before that deadline to have been lawful for purposes of adjustment of status under section 245, and directs the Secretary of State to reduce by 2 the number of immigrant visas otherwise available to natives of their country of birth during the current or next fiscal year under sections 202(e) or 203(a). The section further bars their natural parents, brothers, and sisters from receiving any immigration benefit solely on the basis of that relationship.
