H.R. 1485 — Alien Removal Not Resort Stays Act

This section establishes the short title of the Act as the “Alien Removal Not Resort Stays Act.”

This section terminates authorization of Federal funding for the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Shelter and Services Program beginning on the date of enactment of this Act and bars appropriations or other Federal funds for any successor or similar program. (Thus, no new Federal funds may be made available for shelter and services assistance for noncitizens after enactment.)

This section rescinds and transfers all unobligated balances appropriated or otherwise made available to the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Shelter and Services Program as of the day before enactment to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s “operations and support” account for necessary expenses related to enforcement, detention, and removal operations. (Thus, funds previously available for shelter and services for noncitizens are redirected to immigration enforcement activities.)
