“To provide for the application of sanctions regarding Mahan Air.”
No CRS summary available for this bill.
This section establishes the short title as the “Reinforcing Sanctions on Iranian Terrorists Act.”
This section directs the President, not later than 90 days after enactment, to submit to the appropriate congressional committees a determination on whether to apply sanctions, in whole or in part, to the Iran Airports Company under Executive Order 13224. As background, Executive Order 13224 blocks property and prohibits transactions involving persons who commit, threaten to commit, or support terrorism; the findings state that Mahan Air was designated under that order on October 12, 2011, and that the Iran Airports Company, a state-owned enterprise that holds and operates Iran’s civilian airports, facilitates Mahan Air’s operations. The determination must be submitted in unclassified form, but may include a classified annex.
