H.R. 1513 — Unplug the Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Program Act

This section repeals the grant program under 23 U.S.C. 151(f) for installing publicly accessible electric vehicle charging infrastructure, hydrogen fueling infrastructure, propane fueling infrastructure, and natural gas fueling infrastructure along designated national corridors. It also strikes the related authorization of appropriations from sec. 11101(b) of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (Public Law 117-58), redesignates subsequent subparagraphs, and makes conforming amendments to cross-references and reporting requirements.

This section rescinds all unobligated amounts appropriated for the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program and terminates the program upon enactment, prohibiting any further use of funds for it. (As background, the NEVI Formula Program, established by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, provides $5 billion in formula grants to states through FY2026 to deploy publicly accessible electric vehicle charging infrastructure along designated alternative fuel corridors, such as interstate highways.)
