H.R. 1516 — To require the Secretary of State to report an assessment of the Conflict and Stabilization Operations Bureau, including whether the Bureau should be maintained, explanations of its function, and cost analysis of the Bureau.

This section directs the Secretary of State to submit to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, no later than 180 days after enactment, a report on the Conflict and Stabilization Operations Bureau assessing (1) whether the Bureau should be maintained; (2) its unique functions; (3) costs associated with its operations, including potential dissolution costs and immediate and long-term savings from dissolution; and (4) a plan for absorbing any of its functions or personnel into other State Department bureaus.
