H.R. 1523 — PREVENT DIABETES Act

This section designates the Act as the “Promoting Responsible and Effective Virtual Experiences through Novel Technology to Deliver Improved Access and Better Engagement with Tested and Evidence-based Strategies Act” or the “PREVENT DIABETES Act”.

This section requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to revise Medicare regulations under 42 CFR parts 410 and 424, effective January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2030, to permit entities meeting Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP) supplier enrollment conditions to participate in MDPP—a Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation model providing lifestyle coaching services to at-risk beneficiaries—by offering only online MDPP services via synchronous or asynchronous technology or telecommunications, as follows: (1) designate such entities' administrative location as their address on file under the Diabetes Prevention Recognition Program; (2) prohibit denial of payment claims solely because an MDPP beneficiary receiving such services was not located in the same state as the entity; and (3) eliminate limits on the number of times an individual may enroll in MDPP.
