H.R. 1562 — Test Strip Access Act of 2025

This section expands the grant program for State and Tribal response to opioid use disorders to authorize the inclusion of fentanyl or xylazine test strips, in addition to drugs or devices approved, cleared, or otherwise legally marketed under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. (Thus, grantees may use funds to increase access to test strips for detecting fentanyl—a synthetic opioid—and xylazine—a veterinary sedative increasingly adulterating illicit drugs—to support overdose prevention.)
