H.R. 1579 — Broadband Buildout Accountability Act

This section applies the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program (previously exempt under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act). (The BEAD program allocates $42.45 billion in grants to states and territories to deploy broadband service to unserved locations—those lacking access to reliable broadband at 100/20 Mbps with low latency—and underserved locations.)
