H.R. 1630 — To allow States to elect to observe year-round daylight saving time, and for other purposes.

This section revises state options under the Uniform Time Act of 1966 for observing daylight saving time (DST)—which requires DST from 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March to 2:00 a.m. on the first Sunday in November—to authorize (1) states entirely within one time zone to apply DST year-round (previously, exemption to standard time only), provided the entire state observes the same time; and (2) states spanning multiple time zones to apply year-round DST statewide or to any time zone area therein (in addition to existing exemptions to standard time for the entire state or any time zone area).
