H.R. 1760 — USPS Act

This section directs the Comptroller General of the United States to investigate nationwide patterns and instances of mail theft, mail delays, United States Postal Service employee violations investigated by the Postal Service Office of the Inspector General, other criminal or civil violations under Postal Inspection Service jurisdiction, and theft or vandalism of Postal Service property; and to submit a report on each such investigation not later than one year after enactment and annually thereafter for five years to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. The reports must describe Postal Service measures to address these violations and provide recommendations for the Postal Service and Congress. In conducting the investigations, the Comptroller General must consult with the Postal Service Inspector General and Postal Inspection Service.
