This section prohibits the federal government from making contributions to the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), or the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), notwithstanding any other provision of law.
This section directs the Comptroller General of the United States to conduct (1) a study identifying all federal grant and loan programs providing funds to the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), and United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)—including recipient nongovernmental organizations, total funding amounts for each in FY2021 through FY2025 by program, applicable restrictions, and amounts those organizations should repay to the U.S. government—and (2) an audit of the Department of State’s Refugee Travel Loan Program (i.e., interest-free loans to refugees for travel costs to the U.S., which must be repaid); and to submit a report on the results to Congress within 180 days of enactment.
