H.R. 1793 — Veterans Readiness and Employment Transparency Act of 2025

This section establishes outreach requirements for the chapter 31 Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) program—which provides evaluation, counseling, training, placement, and other services to veterans with service-connected disabilities to achieve suitable employment or independent living—by (1) requiring VA to establish a dedicated telephone number in its Education Call Center for program inquiries and to list on each regional office website a contact name, phone number, and email address for such services; (2) directing monthly question-and-answer sessions between VA counseling staff and school certifying officials, in-person informational briefings (or virtual if over 150 miles from the regional office) by VR&E counselors for veterans at educational institutions in their area, and annual reports to the congressional Veterans' Affairs Committees on requests for extensions of rehabilitation program periods under section 3105(c)—including the number requested, approved, and rejected—beginning one year after enactment; and (3) requiring VA to approve or reject VR&E entitlement extension requests under section 3105(c) within 30 days of submission.
