H.R. 1814 — Restoring the VA Home Loan Program in Perpetuity Act of 2025

This section limits the Secretary of Veterans Affairs' authority under the servicer purchaser program—under which the Department of Veterans Affairs acquires defaulted VA-guaranteed home loans from servicers to facilitate modifications and prevent veteran foreclosures—to an aggregate of 250 loans per fiscal year and makes a conforming amendment to reference the limitation. The section further directs the Secretary to submit to the congressional Committees on Veterans’ Affairs, not later than 180 days after the date of enactment, a report containing the Secretary’s plan to sell to a non-government entity each loan acquired under the program on or after May 31, 2024.
