H.R. 1875 — Medicaid Provider Screening Accountability Act

This section requires states, beginning January 1, 2028, to screen Medicaid providers and suppliers against the database established under section 6401(b)(2) of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (i.e., the Provider Screening and Enrollment Database)—as part of enrollment, reenrollment, or revalidation, and no less frequently than monthly during enrollment—to identify any terminations of such providers from Medicare (title XVIII) or from another state's Medicaid (title XIX) or CHIP (title XXI) program. (Thus, states must deny or terminate enrollment for providers terminated elsewhere.)
