H.R. 1958 — Deporting Fraudsters Act of 2026

This section amends the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) to add new grounds of inadmissibility under INA §212(a)(2)(J) and deportability under INA §237(a)(2)(G) for aliens convicted of, who admit having committed, or who admit committing acts constituting the essential elements of (1) Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) violations under 7 U.S.C. 2024; (2) Social Security fraud under 42 U.S.C. 408; (3) theft or bribery concerning federally funded programs under 18 U.S.C. 666; (4) fraud related to identification documents under 18 U.S.C. 1028; (5) major fraud against the United States under 18 U.S.C. 1031; (6) mail fraud offenses under 18 U.S.C. chapter 63; (7) conspiracy to defraud the United States under 18 U.S.C. 371; (8) any other offense involving defrauding the U.S. government or unlawful receipt of federal, state, or local public benefits (as defined in the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996); or (9) conspiracy to commit any of the foregoing offenses. It further renders aliens inadmissible or deportable under these grounds ineligible for any immigration relief, including under section 2242 of the Omnibus Consolidated and Emergency Supplemental Appropriations Act, 1999.
