H.R. 2084 — Smoke Exposure Research Act of 2025

This section directs the Secretary of Agriculture, acting through the Administrator of the Agricultural Research Service, to conduct research on wildfire smoke exposure in wine grapes—including identifying responsible compounds, establishing standard sampling and testing methodologies (including fast and inexpensive screening methods), creating a database of natural background levels of such compounds, developing risk assessment tools and mitigation methods, and studying barrier compounds—and to coordinate with land-grant colleges and universities in California, Oregon, and Washington having relevant expertise in viticulture and enology. This section authorizes $6.5 million for each of FY2026 through FY2030 to carry out these activities, to remain available until expended.
