H.R. 2095 — Postal Police Reform Act of 2025

This section includes Postal Service police officers among those authorized under subsection (a)—Postal Inspectors and other designated agents—to serve warrants and subpoenas issued under U.S. authority, make warrantless arrests for U.S. offenses committed in their presence or for felonies upon reasonable grounds, carry firearms, and seize property as provided by law, subject to subsection (b) limitations on postal-related enforcement (and, as authorized by the Attorney General, other laws detrimental to Postal Service operations). It replaces subsection (c), which previously authorized the Postal Service to employ police officers with powers to protect postal property (including enforcement of federal laws and regulations, carrying firearms, warrantless arrests, serving warrants, and investigations), with authority for the Postmaster General to prescribe and conspicuously post regulations for the protection and administration of such property and persons on it, violations of which are punishable by fine under Title 18, imprisonment for not more than 30 days, or both.
