H.R. 211 — Equal Access to Contraception for Veterans Act

This section revises Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) copayment requirements for medications under 38 U.S.C. 1722A(a)(2) by (1) limiting copayments to the cost to the Secretary for medications described in paragraph (1) and (2) prohibiting any copayment for contraceptive items required to be covered without cost-sharing under section 2713(a)(4) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 300gg-13(a)(4)). (As background, that Affordable Care Act provision requires non-grandfathered health plans to cover recommended preventive services—including contraceptives developed under guidelines from the Health Resources and Services Administration—without any patient deductibles, copayments, or coinsurance.)
