H.R. 219 — Improving Menopause Care for Veterans Act of 2025

This section directs the Comptroller General of the United States to conduct a study on medical services furnished by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) under 38 U.S.C. §§1703 (health care furnished at non-VA facilities) and 1710 (care for service-connected disabilities and other conditions) to veterans experiencing perimenopause, genitourinary syndrome of menopause, and menopause, and to issue a public report within 18 months of enactment. The report must describe current VA menopause care; review guidelines and protocols for provider training, diagnosis and treatment, and referrals to non-VA providers; evaluate access to interdisciplinary care and care quality (including veteran feedback, efficacy, and complaint mechanisms); assess educational and outreach initiatives; examine use of internal and external research; and provide recommendations for improvement. Not later than six months after the report's release, the VA Secretary must submit to the congressional Veterans' Affairs Committees a strategic plan to implement the recommendations and improve care quality and access.
