H.R. 2256 — National Rosie the Riveter Day Act

This section states congressional findings recognizing the contributions and sacrifices of more than 6,000,000 American women who joined the workforce during World War II, including in factories, farms, shipyards, and volunteer roles; their perseverance amid discrimination; the role of women of color; and the appropriateness of designating March 21 as National Rosie the Riveter Day.

This section designates National Rosie the Riveter Day (36 U.S.C. §149), requesting the President to issue an annual proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe the day with appropriate ceremonies and activities and urging state, territorial, tribal, and local civil and educational authorities to conduct related programs.
