H.R. 2302 — Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians Land Transfer Act of 2025

This section revokes Public Land Order 3309 (dated January 17, 1964, 29 Fed. Reg. 609) and transfers jurisdiction over the described lands to the Secretary of the Interior. It directs the Secretary to take into trust for the benefit of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, Shingle Springs Rancheria (Verona Tract), California—subject to valid existing rights—not later than 180 days after enactment, (1) approximately 80 acres of land generally depicted as “BLM Land–Proposed Transfer into Trust” on the specified map and (2) approximately 185 acres generally depicted as “Indian Creek Ranch–Proposed Transfer into Trust Land Status” on the map. The section requires the Secretary to review the land beforehand to determine if a survey is needed and, if so, to conduct the survey (with minor corrections for errors) and make it publicly available at the appropriate Bureau of Indian Affairs office. The trust land is declared part of the tribe's reservation and must be administered by the Secretary in accordance with general federal laws and regulations applicable to tribal trust property. This section prohibits class II gaming (e.g., bingo) and class III gaming (e.g., casino games) under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act on the trust land.
