H.R. 2330 — Virginia Beach Heroes Act

This section establishes special rules under the Internal Revenue Code for contributions and payments aiding families of law enforcement officers killed in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on February 22, 2025. Specifically, (1) cash contributions made on or after that date for the exclusive benefit of those families qualify as charitable contributions under section 170; and (2) payments by tax-exempt organizations to the officers' spouses or dependents (as defined in section 152), made from February 22, 2025, through February 23, 2028, using a good faith reasonable and objective formula consistently applied, are treated as related to the organization's exempt purpose under section 501(a) and not as private inurement.
