H.R. 2332 — SHARE Act of 2025

This section requires the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to provide criminal history record information to a state licensing authority—through an agreement with a state law enforcement agency or state identification bureau—for background checks on individuals seeking licenses or privileges to practice an occupation or profession under an interstate compact. It prohibits such state licensing authorities from using the information for any purpose other than acting on the license or privilege or sharing it with the compact commission, other state entities or licensing authorities, or the public.
