H.R. 2360 — To permanently extend the exemption from the engine compartment portion of the pre-trip vehicle inspection skills testing requirement for school bus drivers, and for other purposes.

This section makes permanent the exemption from under-the-hood inspection testing requirements in the pre-trip vehicle inspection portion of the commercial driver's license (CDL) skills test for certain school bus drivers, as granted by the Department of Transportation on December 2, 2024 (89 Fed. Reg. 95348). The section also requires participating states to submit annual reports to the Secretary of Transportation, for six years following enactment, describing the number of drivers obtaining a CDL under the exemption.
