H.R. 237 — Paws Off Act of 2025

This section amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to deem a food misbranded if it contains xylitol unless its label or labeling includes a warning specifying the toxic effects of xylitol for dogs if ingested (new subsection (z)). The section further directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services, acting through the Commissioner of Food and Drugs, to issue an interim final rule implementing this requirement not later than six months after enactment and a final rule not later than one year after enactment.
