H.R. 2383 — Protecting Kids from Fentanyl Act of 2025

This section expands the permissible uses of Preventive Health and Health Services Block Grant funds—formula grants to states and territories for preventive health activities—by authorizing three new activities: (1) purchasing naloxone or other opioid antagonists for use in educational institutions; (2) providing training to school nurses, teachers, school administrators, and school resource officers on how to administer naloxone or other opioid antagonists; and (3) providing fentanyl awareness classes or materials to students. (Thus, states may now use block grant funds for these school-based opioid overdose reversal and fentanyl prevention efforts.)
