H.R. 2400 — Pit River Land Transfer Act of 2025

This section directs the Secretary of the Interior to take approximately 583.79 acres of Four Corners Federal land (i.e., land managed by the Forest Service, as generally depicted on the map titled “Proposed Land Conveyance to the Pit River Tribe” and dated November 6, 2024, excluding approximately 20.03 acres of roads, highways, and public rights-of-way) into trust for the benefit of the Pit River Tribe, California (including XL Ranch, Big Bend, Likely, Lookout, Montgomery Creek, and Roaring Creek Rancherias), subject to valid existing rights. The Secretary of Agriculture must complete a survey of the land within 180 days after enactment. Upon trust acquisition, the land is deemed part of the Pit River Tribe Reservation and administered in accordance with laws and regulations generally applicable to federal trust property. Land taken into trust under this section may not be used for class II or class III gaming under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (as defined in 25 U.S.C. 2703).
