H.R. 2518 — Fishing Industry Credit Enhancement Act of 2025

This section expands eligibility for credit and financial services from farm credit banks and production credit associations—cooperatives in the government-sponsored Farm Credit System that finance agricultural producers and related businesses—to persons furnishing services directly related to the operating needs of producers or harvesters of aquatic products (i.e., aquaculture and fishing operations). Specifically, it (1) inserts such persons as a new category (3) in farm credit bank borrower eligibility criteria, redesignating rural homeowners as category (4); (2) authorizes farm credit banks to extend credit to such persons for their operating needs; and (3) adds such persons as a new category (4) in production credit association borrower stock requirements.
