H.R. 2529 — Convenient Contraception Act

This section requires group health plans and health insurance issuers offering group or individual health insurance coverage to permit enrollees, at their option, to obtain up to a 365-day supply of contraceptives required to be covered without cost-sharing as preventive services under Public Health Service Act Section 2713(a)(4) (i.e., women's preventive services per HRSA guidelines) through a single fill or refill, regardless of those guidelines. The requirement applies to plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2026. This section further directs the Secretaries of Health and Human Services, Labor, and the Treasury to jointly conduct outreach to health care providers and enrollees (or those eligible to enroll) in such plans and coverage about the new requirement, beginning no later than 90 days after enactment.
