This section establishes a new section 1076g of title 10, United States Code, to improve TRICARE program administration in Puerto Rico by (1) requiring the Secretary of Defense to designate TRICARE Prime geographical areas there in a manner similar to designations in the states under section 1097(b)(3); (2) extending eligibility for travel and transportation allowances under section 1074i to otherwise qualified individuals located in Puerto Rico; and (3) directing the Director of the Federal Electronic Health Record Modernization Office to coordinate with the Director of the Puerto Rico Department of Health for health information sharing through the Joint Health Information Exchange or a successor. This section also requires the Secretary to submit a report to the House and Senate Armed Services Committees, not later than 180 days after enactment, on implementation progress.
