H.R. 2693 — District of Columbia Electronic Transmittal of Legislation Act

This section permits the Chairman of the District of Columbia Council to transmit Council acts under §602(c) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act in electronic form and to submit proposed charter amendments under §303 of such Act in electronic form.

This section requires the House of Representatives and Senate to treat acts transmitted or submitted electronically by the Chairman of the Council of the District of Columbia the same as paper submissions for purposes of congressional review under the District of Columbia Home Rule Act (i.e., secs. 1–206.02(c) and 1–203.03, D.C. Official Code). The section is enacted as an exercise of each chamber's rulemaking authority, applicable only to such acts and subject to change by either House.
