H.R. 2721 — Honoring Our Heroes Act of 2025

This section establishes temporary authority, for seven years from enactment, for the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to furnish headstones, burial markers, or medallions under 38 U.S.C. 2306(a) to veterans eligible for burial in a national cemetery who died on or after December 7, 1941, and whose graves lack such items previously provided—disregarding the restriction under section 8041(b) of the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1990 (P.L. 101-508) limiting such provision to veterans dying on or after November 1, 1990 (i.e., waiving the post-1990 death requirement for certain World War II-era veterans). The section also requires the Secretary to update the National Cemetery Administration website during that period to reflect this expanded eligibility.
