H.R. 2775 — Coastal Drone Surveillance and Interdiction Assessment Act

This section directs the Secretary of Homeland Security, in consultation with relevant federal agency heads, to submit to the House Committee on Homeland Security and the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, not later than 180 days after enactment, an assessment of the effectiveness, risks, and potential of drone deployment to improve border security and disrupt maritime or low-altitude drug smuggling along the U.S. coastline, focusing on major trafficking corridors and communities in remote, insular, or hard-to-reach areas.
