H.R. 2779 — Abortion Funding Awareness Act of 2025

This section requires each state that makes a Medicaid payment from federal funds during a fiscal year to an abortion provider (i.e., an entity that performs or refers for abortions, or is controlled by such an entity) to submit a report to the Secretary of Health and Human Services, not later than 60 days after the end of the fiscal year, and to publish the report on the state's public website. The report must include, for each such payment, (1) the amount, (2) the purposes for which it was made, and (3) a comparison to payments to the provider in any prior fiscal year; and (1) the number of abortions performed by the provider during the fiscal year, (2) the gestational age for each abortion, and (3) the method of abortion used. This section further requires the Secretary, not later than 90 days after the end of the fiscal year, to submit the state reports to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Senate Committee on Finance and to publish them on the Department of Health and Human Services website, including a summary. This section defines "abortion," "abortion provider," and related terms and amends section 1902(a) of the Social Security Act by adding a new state plan requirement (paragraph (88)) for compliance with these reporting provisions.
