H.R. 2835 — Small Bank Holding Company Relief Act

This section directs the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, not later than 180 days after enactment, to revise the Small Bank Holding Company and Savings and Loan Holding Company Policy Statement to raise the consolidated asset threshold to $25 billion (from $3 billion) for bank holding companies and savings and loan holding companies. (As background, the policy statement provides regulatory relief to qualifying small holding companies by allowing simplified capital structures, higher debt-to-equity ratios, and exemptions from certain supervisory approvals.)
