H.R. 2848 — Stop Arctic Ocean Drilling Act of 2025

This section prohibits the Secretary of the Interior from issuing or extending any lease or other authorization for the exploration, development, or production of oil, natural gas, or any other mineral in Arctic areas of the outer Continental Shelf. It defines the term "Arctic" by reference to section 112 of the Arctic Research and Policy Act of 1984 (i.e., all United States and foreign territory north of the Arctic Circle and all United States territory north and west of the boundary formed by the Porcupine, Yukon, and Kuskokwim Rivers; all contiguous seas, including the Arctic Ocean and the Beaufort, Bering, and Chukchi Seas; and the Aleutian chain).
