H.R. 3335 — Children Don't Belong on Tobacco Farms Act

This section expands the definition of "oppressive child labor" under the Fair Labor Standards Act to include the employment of any individual under 18 years of age who has direct contact with tobacco plants or dried tobacco leaves. It further modifies the exception for certain family employment (i.e., by a parent or person standing in loco parentis, outside school hours) by adding such tobacco-related agriculture to the list of excluded occupations, alongside manufacturing and mining. (Thus, the family exception no longer applies to tobacco-related agriculture.)
