H.R. 3344 — Sovereign States Bureau of Prisons Restructuring Act of 2025

This section directs the Attorney General to develop a plan, not later than 270 days after enactment, to (1) reduce Bureau of Prisons funding to fiscal year 2019 levels; and (2) structure such funding with 50 percent as block grants to states, 10 percent to the Department of Justice office administering the block grants, and 10 percent to the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General for oversight of the block grants; and to implement the plan not later than one year after enactment.
