H.R. 3359 — Veterans’ Security and Pay Transparency Act

This section establishes an annual reporting requirement under new 38 U.S.C. §906 for the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to submit to the congressional Committees on Veterans’ Affairs a report on compensation paid to Department police officers, disaggregated by facility and specified General Schedule positions (i.e., GS-0080 Chief of Police or Deputy Chief of Police; GS-0083 Supervisory Police Officer, Police Detective, Police Officer, or Training Officer; GS-1811 Criminal Investigator; GS-0080 Physical Security Specialist; GS-0086 Security Specialist Assistant or Dispatcher; and GS-0303 or GS-0341 Administrative Officer). The report must include (1) salaries; (2) availability pay under 5 U.S.C. §5545a; (3) bonuses to recruit or retain officers; and (4) any other compensation, with the first report due not later than six months after enactment.
